Angela Cooper BAHons MSc DHC
From August 2024, I am a Senior Accredited Member aligned to Column C of the SCoPEd framework and a Specialist Accredited Supervisor – Individuals and Groups. I am based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
I have been in practice since 1991 as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working to an integrative model. This means I draw from many different approaches, according to the client need. These include humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioural, Solution focus, Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic. I have an MSc in Counselling Supervision and Training from Bristol University (1994) and am also UKRC Registered. In 2003 I qualified as a couple counsellor. For six years I was a BACP Accreditation Assessor, and was a regular reviewer for them for over fifteen years specialising in law, ethics, supervision and social psychotherapy. In December 2008 I completed further training in CBT. Since 2007 my conference and review work has focussed on neuroscience, body work and intergenerational trauma.
I have regular monthly supervision, totalling a minimum of one and a half hours, and my personal therapy has totalled approximately ten years. In addition to private practice, I have worked for a wide number of organisations, agencies and companies both in a supervisory and in a counselling capacity.
I work in accordance with all data protection legislation and relevant regulations and am registered with the Information Commissioner‘s Office (ICO). Full details of how any personal data is managed will be discussed before any therapy commences and written details will be provided.
